This is a charming French restaurant in the heart of the old part of Mayfair. You're greeted in French, and despite replying in my best Français, was asked "Would you like to sit here Sir?"

The bare tables are candle-lit and despite the bare wood floor the atmosphere is extremely cosy. There are heaters on the patio for al fresco dining in the English summer. The clientele is quite eclectic, some coming from the numerous five star hotels on nearby Park Lane (lots of Americans)

The soupe a l'oignon is one of the best French onion soups I've tasted anywhere.

Supreme of Chcken with a lemon and thyme jus

A reasonable selection of wines by the glass including a Coldstream Hils, Yarra Valley, Australian Merlot for £4.75. Very nice and smooth.

There is a half dozen selection of Armagnacs going back to 1947 (@ £1595!)
